Woman, Baby Killed In Boat Crash Off Liberty Island A 46-year-old Manhattan man has been charged after a boat overturned near Liberty Island, killing a 27-year-old woman and a 5-month-old baby, authorities said. Manuel Hernandez was arrested at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, within the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, and charged with 13 counts of reckless endangerment, an NYPD spokesperson said.
