Heavy traffic hammered New Jersey’s major crossings Sunday evening, Nov. 30, as holiday travelers returned home in record numbers, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
At 7:17 p.m., delays were reported on the George Washington Bridge upper level eastbound at the New Jersey Side Toll Plaza in Fort Lee, officials said. All lanes were open. Travel time was 35 to 40 minutes from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge.

Dump Truck Overturns, Pole Down, Parkway Crash Snarl NJ Morning Commute
It was a rough start for New Jersey drivers Tuesday morning, Oct. 28, with crashes and road closures reported across several major highways.
As of 8:25 a.m., a downed pole on Route 208 northbound south of High Mountain Road in Franklin Lakes closed two of three lanes, according to state transportation officials. Those lanes were still closed as of press time.
Just before 9 a.m., a driver struck a deer on the Garden State Parkway northbound between Exit 171 (Glen Road) and Chestnut Ridge Road in Woodcliff Lake.
