Around 1:30 a.m. police pulled over a red Mercedes that turned south from Chambers Street to Commerce Drive without using a turn signal, police said. The driver, Matthew Luna, 23, of Hull Street, told police he had a small amount of marijuana in his pants pocket, police said. In April, the director of Visiting Angels, a Fairfield-based home care agency, told police that someone had cashed a fraudulent check for $1,130 against the agency’s account. Another attempt — this time a check for $1,530 — was made at the Wells Fargo Bank in Trumbull, but that check was not cashed, police said.
