Loved ones are now mourning the untimely loss of the 32-year-old, a Freeport tow truck operator who was struck and killed while assisting a stranded driver on a busy Long Island highway. Rodriguez, who worked for Coastal Collision, was killed Tuesday, April 15, on Sunrise Highway near Brentwood Road in Bay Shore, as Daily Voice reported. Firefighters in Saratoga County responded to a Waterford residence on Saratoga Avenue near Hill Street for a fire at an occupied two-story home at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17. Jason Melendez, 40, of Schenectady, was arrested Wednesday, April 16, in connection with a stabbing attack that left a man hospitalized outside Rotterdam’s Sliderz Bar & Grill.
