Edgar Nova Lopez, 29, of Riverhead, was arrested on multiple sex crimes charges on Tuesday, Feb. 25, following an investigation by New York State Police. Nassau County Police responded to the New Hyde Park Target store on Union Turnpike for an attempted shoplifting at around 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, the agency said. Employees told police that Yunzhi Xie, 43, had attempted to exit the store with unpaid merchandise. Victim ID'd In Deadly Pedestrian Crash On Niskayuna Roadway A 59-year-old woman was hit and killed while crossing a Capital Region roadway. Angela Fisher-Reid, of Schenectady, was struck by a car on Route 7 near Hickory Road in Niskayuna at around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, Niskayuna Police said. Fisher-Reid was taken by ambulance to Ellis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Niskayuna Police Department at 518-386-4598.
