William Dawson, age 51, was indicted on fraud charges by a federal grand jury in Worcester on Wednesday, Oct. 18. According to prosecutors, Dawson met with an employee of a home cleanout business in January 2023 after the company was hired by an estate in Shrewsbury. Christopher Volpe, age 44, of Patchogue, was sentenced to four to nine years behind bars in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Oct. 19, for his role in several Dunkin’ burglaries around the county. According to prosecutors, Volpe and two others broke into five businesses between December 2022 and January 2023. Altogether, they made off with over $6,500. Long Island Man Sexually Abuses Child For Years, Police Say A 38-year-old Long Island man was arrested after an investigation found that he subjected a child to years of sexual abuse. Edwin Camey, of the hamlet of Calverton, was taken into custody Thursday, Oct. 19, according to Southampton Town Police. Investigators determined that Camey began sexually abusing the victim in October 2014, when the child was under the age of 11. The alleged abuse continued for more than four years at homes in both Calverton and Flanders before finally ending in April 2019. Drunk Woman With Child In Car Crashes On Capital Region Roadway, Police Say A woman from the region is facing DWI charges following a car crash in the region involving a child. The Schenectady County incident happened at around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, in the town of Duanesburg. Elizabeth Taylor, age 43, of Duanesburg, was driving on Mariaville Scotch Church Road when she went off the roadway and crashed, according to New York State Police.
