The Upper Merion High School student was waiting near Sacred Heart Church at 120 Jefferson Street in the Swedesburg section of the township around 6:30 a.m. when the man walked up and grabbed her arm, according to the Upper Merion Police Department. 7-Year-Old Shoots Himself: Newark PD A 7-year-old boy was hospitalized after shooting himself in the hand in Newark on Monday, Aug. 25, authorities said. At 10:50 a.m., police responded Newark Beth Israel Medical Center on a call of a 7-year-old boy arriving there with his parent for treatment of a self-inflicted gunshot injury to the hand, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The incident occurred at a residence in the 300 block of Clinton Place, where the child located a family member’s firearm, Miranda said.  The incident remains under investigation, Miranda said.
