Edgar Mejia, 31, of Mastic Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene after he and his brother, Omar, were struck by a passing vehicle along William Floyd Parkway in Shirley while changing a flat tire Thursday evening, Jan. 29, as Daily Voice reported.
Omar was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
