Byram Hills Team Wins Charity 'Pink The Rink' Game, Donates $8K
BREWSTER, N.Y. -- The Byram Hills Bobcats defeated their varsity rivals 5-1 Friday in the annual Pink the Rink game to benefit the American Cancer Society, according to the allaboutarmonk.com.The game, which pitted the Byram Hills team against the team from Fox Lane, allowed the Bobcats to raise $8,000 for the charity, more than doubling what was raised last year, according to allaboutarmonk.com. Man, 22, Charged In Crash That Killed Dutchess Man
CLERMONT, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old man is facing vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated charges in connection with a one-car crash Saturday that killed Andrew Clarke of Red Hook. Andrew Casey of Sound Beach, N.Y. in Suffolk County on Long Island, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer that struck several trees and a utility pole before coming to rest near the bottom of an embankment at the side of northbound Route 9 in Clermont, according to New York State Police. Suffern Police Step Up Traffic Enforcement Efforts
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Suffern police made a number of arrests recently while placing an increased focus on vehicle and traffic enforcement, according to police.Village police arrested two men on Thursday, Jan. 14, according to police. A 33-year-old Spring Valley man was arrested after he was pulled over on Route 202 for a traffic violation and found to have been driving with a suspended license, according to police. Justin Speights Death: Reward For Information Raised to $20K
The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who stabbed a 20-year-old Silver Lake firefighter and former Pine Bush High School football player to death has grown to $20,000, according to reports. Police continue to investigate the New Year’s Eve death of Justin Speights, who was stabbed at a house party on Paddock Drive in Crawford while trying to break up a fight.
