Would You Be Fooled? Movie Money Used By 22-Year-Old Long Island Man To 'Buy' Car, Police Say It appeared to be the real deal, but a closer look revealed it was all for show. A 22-year-old Long Island man is accused of scamming a victim out of their car by using movie prop money, according to Southampton Town Police. The victim contacted the department in October 2023 to report that his vehicle had been stolen by a man who had contacted him on Facebook Marketplace. Gunman Who Killed 24-Year-Old Postal Worker In Capital Region Sentenced To Prison More than a year after a young postal worker was shot to death in the region, his killer is heading to prison. Laquan Fallen, age 24, of Albany, was sentenced to between five and 15 years in prison in Albany County Supreme Court on Friday, Dec. 1. 'Enraged' Customer Admits Slashing, Disfiguring Bouncer At Long Island Bar A bouncer at a Long Island bar is permanently disfigured after an angry customer slashed his face after being denied entry. Darieo St. Leger, age 34, of Islip Terrace, pleaded guilty to one count of assault in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Nov. 28. Deadly Hit-Run: Drunk, High 24-Year-Old Admits To Long Island Crash That Killed Woman A 24-year-old man is facing years in prison for hitting and killing a Long Island woman while driving drunk and high on marijuana. Wade Gagliano, of Ronkonkoma, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the death of Adrienne Wagner. Armed Robber Steals $20K From Long Island Business Police are working to track down an armed robber who stole thousands of dollars from a Long Island business. The incident happened at around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Riverhead, at the Latinos Multiservices on East Main Street. College Of Saint Rose Shutting Down After 103 Years After more than a century in operations, Albany’s College of Saint Rose is permanently closing amid mounting financial struggles. The school’s board of trustees voted Thursday, Nov. 30, to shut down the college at the end of the Spring 2024 semester. “It is with a heavy heart that the Board decided to close the college at the end of this academic year,” Board Chair Jeffrey Stone said. Man Found Dead In Wooded Area Near Long Island Park Police are investigating after a man was found dead near a Long Island park. Someone called 911 at around 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, reporting an unconscious man in a wooded area in Riverhead, near Weeping Willow Park on Main Street. When officers and medics arrived, they determined that the man was dead, according to Riverhead Town Police. Authorities identified him as 44-year-old Cuah Temoc Trinidad, of Riverhead.
