Andrew Cuomo took to Twitter recently to remind those New York residents who qualify to take advantage of the state's 85 free tax assistance sites. The sites, part of a program begun in 2014, will offer 1,200 free tax sessions this year, a 600 percent increase over two years ago, according to the governor's office. The program is open to all New Yorkers making $62,000 or less. Erratic Driving Complaint Results In Taconic Felony DWI Charge MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- A Carmel man was arrested Wednesday after troopers found that he was drunk during a traffic stop on the Taconic State Parkway, according to New York State Police. Joseph M. Beach, who was found to have been convicted of driving while intoxicated within the past 10 years, is facing a felony DWI charge in connection with his latest arrest by troopers investigating a report of erratic driving, police said. The 30-year-old was issued several traffic tickets and later released without bail. He is to appear in Mount Pleasant Town Court on Thursday.

Woman In Taconic Crash Drove Drunk, Had Children In Car, Police Say MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- A Sleepy Hollow woman driving drunk with two children in the car was arrested Friday after crashing on the Taconic State Parkway, according to New York state police. Adriana M. Pentz had a blood alcohol content greater than four times the legal limit when she crashed into another car in the southbound lanes of the parkway near Cleveland Street shortly after noon, police said.
