Weeks Of Lane Closures Scheduled For Portion Of Long Island Highway Scheduled road work could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming weeks. Starting Wednesday, Nov. 15, one eastbound lane of the Ocean Parkway will close in the town of Babylon between the Gilgo State Park 4x4 entrance and the Robert Moses Causeway. The eastbound lane will remain closed for approximately five weeks while crews complete paving work, according to the Department of Transportation. Jamal Walker, age 41, of Coram, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 10, according to Riverhead Town Police. The Schenectady County incident happened at around 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in the village of Scotia on Bruce Street. The victim told police the suspect came up behind him and threatened him with a gun. The suspect then forcibly stole his car before fleeing toward North Ballston Avenue. Rensselaer County resident Richard Ody, of Rensselaer, was last seen Wednesday, Nov. 8, according to police. His age was not provided. A missing person report was filed with the Rensselaer Police Department on Monday, Nov. 13. Ody may be in need of medical attention, according to police. The Columbia County wreck happened at around 5:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the town of Greenport on State Route 23. The incident happened at around 3 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood, on Judson Street near First Street.
